This region is at the very tip of our North Island, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. Here you’ll find lush green pastures, cool sea breezes, and free-range, grass-fed beef and lamb that goes into ZIWI.
Follow the Waikato River and you’ll discover an array of ethical farms. Free-range, grass-fed beef and free-range chicken and eggs come from here, and our duck are raised in the Waikato as well.
Featuring a diverse range of landscapes, the flatlands of this region are ideal for all kinds of farming, from classics like free-range, grass-fed beef to novel proteins like ethically farmed venison.
The Canterbury Plains are home to a range of ethical farms, where there’s plenty of room for the animals to roam. ZIWI sources our free-run turkey and grass-fed beef and lamb from Canterbury.

The waters surrounding New Zealand are cool, blue, pristine, and teeming with beautiful sea life. We only work with ethical and sustainable fisheries to catch wild mackerel, kahawai, trevally, southern blue whiting, and hoki.
Say hello to our farmers
Farming is part of Toby’s DNA. In fact, his Turihaua farm has been run by his family since 1896. He’s a big believer in being not just a farmer, but a guardian of the land and the animals he cares for. On his free-range mutton farm, his holistic approach means providing his animals with everything they need to live happily and express their natural behaviours.
